Brooks County Election, GBI Investigation, Local News Media and Citizens Right to know!
November 5, 2010

TO:  Editors, Concerned Citizens, http://kcvci.blogspot.com/, and beyond

What happened to the GBI Investigation in Brooks County concerning absentee ballots, write-ins, and the process?  What has local television, newspapers, and radio stations reported to the general public now that the election is over?

Does Georgia citizens have a right to know?  It seems that voter’s complaints of alleged harassment by investigators have been ignored by the local press here in South Georgia.  Apparently citizens have been visited at their homes and asked questions like:  Can you read?  Can you write?  Can you do math computations?  Where are your children and where can we contact them?  Can they meet us at a location between Brooks and Lowndes County?  Why did you vote absentee ballot instead of other means? Who paid you to vote for a particular candidate in the Brooks County Elections?

These are some of the many questions and complaints received from citizens in Brooks County.  However the general public knows little to nothing about these alleged allegations and reveals a great need for some type of investigative reporting in our area for the good of all Georgians.

This continuous pattern and practice of keeping citizens deaf; dumb and blind; hopefully will be addressed by the Department of Justice at Serenity Church on Sunday, November 7, 2010, at 7:00 PM in Valdosta along with other issues in our beloved community.

Professor Mark George and local Civil Rights Organizations were successful in getting the Department to take a look at problems here in our area.  Moreover it is time for resolutions to issues that has plagued our beloved community for too long.  God bless!
